Many thanks to all the participants in the
Senior Health and Resource Fair last Friday, September 5th, organized by Georgine Redmond and the
Parish Nurse Ministry. We had
23 different agencies offering information about the services they provide for seniors as well as opportunities for individual nutrition and medication counseling as well as free massages. Three expert presentations also covered managing finances for seniors, elder law, and osteoporosis prevention.
90 individuals took advantage of the information and services.
Thanks to the many volunteers who helped to set-up, serve lunch, provide clinical services as well as provide other kinds of support. Special thanks to
Millie Garcia, a parishioner, who donated wonderful canvas bags in which our seniors could put their materials and give-aways. Also, it was great to have help from the students from
Corpus Christi School; they gained a lot of praise from both seniors and the staff from the agencies for their helpfulness and politeness. It was a great way to celebrate
Healthy Aging Month!
